Joseph "Joe" Stanfor Bennett, 83, lifelong resident of Salinas, passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, in Salinas. He was born Feb. 2, 1931 in Van Buren, AR., to Grace Daugherty Bennett and Jess Bennett. The family relocated to the Salinas area almost 70 years ago. Joe was a graduate of Salinas High School and had worked at Bud Antle for several years. He was always a hard worker, working more than one job to help out his family. He married Betty Matlock and had three children. Joe was the epitome of a "Good Man" and was a living example of God's love. You will be missed Grandpa Joe. We know you are up in Heaven enjoying a round of golf and reuniting with family. Joe is survived by his children, Teresa Kaiser, Reginald Bennett and Melissa McKinney. He also leaves behind his sisters, Treva (Dale) McIntire and Sara Dunagan; step-children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and most recently blessed to meet his first great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sybil; his brother, "AJ", and his former wives, Betty, Molly and Emily.
