Jon Davis, 74, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed on August 04, 2021. Jon was born on December 07, 1947.

Jon was a helicopter pilot in the Vietnam War.  While flying a combat assault mission on April 12, 1964, with his great friend and copilot Robert "Bo" Thompson, a missile came through the cockpit floor taking Jon's right leg off below the knee.  Bo continued to fly the helicopter to meet a medical evacuation helicopter which flew Jon to a Saigon hospital.

After his service in the Vietnam War, he met the love of his life Charlene Walrond from Birmingham, AL.  Jon and Charlene were married on March 31, 1986, in East Lake Methodist Church, Birmingham, AL.

He is survived by his loving wife, Charlene Davis, two sons Andrew B Davis, Jonathan W Davis, and daughter-in-law Brittany L Davis; his sister Carolyn Davis Davenport and brother-in-law Bill Davenport.
