Johnny Ray BallHattiesburg, MSMr. Johnny Ray Ball, 62, passed away at his home in Hattiesburg, MS. on October 20, 2016. Mr. Ball was born on January 15, 1954 in Prentiss to the late James I.J. and Mary Jane Smith Ball. After retiring from the United States Army with 22 years of service at the rank of Sergeant First Class, he went on to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Social & Rehabilitation Services from University of Southern Mississippi. He later obtained a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Jackson State University. He retired from Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services in 2014 after 15 years. He leaves to cherish his memories, two daughters, G. Nicole Ball and Quanda R. Ball; two grandchildren, Jonathon and Jazmin Ball; three brothers, IV, Bobby, and Mark Ball; four sisters, Vetta Lackland, Helen Blackmon, Joyce Jackson, and Rose Ball; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.Viewing will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on October 28 between the hours of 1 - 8 pm with the family arriving at 7 pm. His funeral service will be held at Hollisday Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Carson, MS. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 followed by internment at Green Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Prentiss, MS.
