John “Hunk” Drayton, a beloved soul who embraced a life of devotion as a brother, father and Grandfather and friend. He was born in March 28, 1953 on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, to the late Luke Gadson and Shirley Moultrie. John “Hunk” received his education at Beaufort County School. He was employed with Beaufort county transportation department for many years, Hunk’s last employment was with Waste Management retiring after 40 years with the company. He was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and love for playing cards, laughing, hanging out with friends and family. 

Hunk preceded in death by his parents; left to cherish his memories are his two sisters Jeannette (Lincoln) George Jacksonville, Fl, Jacqueline Moultrie New Castle, Delaware; one brother Leon Drayton Hilton Head, South Carolina.

In his memories are left with his five children; Michelle Chisolm Jacksonville, Fl, Kevin Ford Hardeville, South Carolina, Jamie (Tyhieshia) Drayton Hardeville, South Carolina, Brandon Drayton, Lisa Drayton, Bri Drayton of Beaufort, South Carolina. 

Grandchildren Shanequa Burfict, Dontray Drayton, Mya Drayton, Jazzy Drayton, Abby Ford, KJ Ford

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, as his warmth and friendship touched the lives of many. May he rest in peace.
