Joann Montes, 57, of Cicero, Illinois, passed peacefully in her home on November 17, 2021. Joann was born on September 26, 1964. She was fervently involved in her church and community. For 25 years she advocated for Latinos in the Chicagoland area.

As one poster remarked on her tribute wall: “Joann's commitment to her community was evident in the way she spent her time and days. Always ready to help someone in need.”

She is survived by her children: Robert Acevedo, Angel Acevedo, Michael Montes and Jose D. Montes.

Memorial Services were held privately at the Humboldt Park Community Gardens in Chicago, IL. The family is not asking for flowers or gifts at this time. In lieu of such, please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
