This obituary is administered by:

In Loving Memory of A Beloved Daughter, Sister, Mother, Aunt and Friend

Jettie Lou Williams was born in Birmingham, Alabama on March 23, 1946.  She was the fifth of eight children from the union of Ben Pugh and Jessie Mae Pugh.  The family relocated to Detroit, Michigan in 1953 when Jettie was 7 years old.

Jettie was educated in the Detroit Public School system and graduated from Farris Trade School in 1965.  She was a gifted artist and was recruited by Walt Disney studios upon graduation.  However, she decided to pursue a career of helping others and begin to take night classes to further her education in the medical field.  Jettie begin working as a nurse's aide at Jennings Hospital in 1967.  She later switched to a Transport Aide at the Detroit Medical Center where she worked for 33 years before retiring.

She was married to Walter L Williams of Detroit (a native of Arkansas) in the late 1960's and produced two children, Anthony L. Williams and Yolanda D. Williams.  She was a great homemaker and kept an extremely clean home for her family.  Jettie was a vivaciously spirited and dear person that made everyone laugh.  She loved life and being around people.  She was always caring, strong, and thoughtful of others.  She was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, aunt, and friend.

Jettie received Christ at an early age.  She attended Beulah First Missionary Baptist Church and Second Ebenezer Church, both of Detroit, Michigan.

In retirement, she spent time playing card games with her children, playing The Sims video game, watching her favorite TV shows, and hanging pictures of her beloved President Barack Obama.  She also enjoyed time with her siblings and their families.

Jettie's health begin to decline over the past few years.  She departed this life on Wednesday, November 07, 2019, at 5:50 AM at Lahser Hills Care Center.  Her father, Ben Pugh (2000), and her siblings, Bessie Mae Pugh (2007), Ben Pugh, Jr. (2005), and William Howard Pugh (1998) preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory:  her beloved son and daughter, Anthony L. Williams and Yolanda D. Williams (Ferndale, MI); her mother, Jessie Mae Pugh (Oak Park, MI); her loving twin, Bettie Lou Sykes (Detroit, MI); her sisters:  Carolyn McNeal (Livonia, MI), Ola Mae Pugh (Bethany, Missouri), and Jacqueline Pugh Boatman (Oak Park, MI); her aunts, Rosebud Murdock (New York, NY) and Bobbie Gray (Bronx, NY); and a host of nieces, nephews, counsins, other relatives and friends.

Jettie was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by many.  She will always be in our hearts and forever in our memories.
