Jerome J. Zahn 1925 - 2014 Jerome J. Zahn, 89, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014, at Brookside Care Center. He was born on Sept. 28, 1925, to the late Albert and Ida Mary (Hoffman) Zahn in Kenosha. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School. Jerome entered the U.S. Navy on September 15, 1943. He was a Seaman First Class Quarter Master and was honorably discharged on December 16, 1947. Jerome married Nina D. Bakshta on July 30, 1945 at Our Lady of the Sea Church in Key West, Fla. She preceded him in death on Dec. 7, 2011. Jerome worked at Wisconsin Telephone for 31-1/2 years, retiring on Aug. 28, 1979. Jerome was a life long member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Senior Center. Jerome enjoyed woodworking and playing cards. Jerome is survived by his son William (Rachel nee: Jornt) Zahn of Kenosha, his daughter, Patti (Jim) Zahn-Yuenkel of Wauwatosa, his grandchildren, Nick (fiancé Andrea Mrozek) Zahn, Matt (Jodi) Zahn, Mike (Lisa) Zahn, Ginny (Carl) Palm, Emily (Jason Sidabras) Yuenkel and Noah Yuenkel and his great grandchildren Casey and Cody Zahn, Jameson and Aisling Zahn, Lincoln and Finley Palm. A Mass of Christian Burial for Jerome will be held on Thursday, Dec. 11, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church (4816 – 7th Ave.). Visitation will be held on Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church. Private entombment will take place at All Saints Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers or memorials the family would appreciate you donating a toy to a child in need.
