Jerome Jones, 72, of Rochester, New York, passed on November 24, 2022. Jerome was born on January 01, 1950, in Jackson,, Mississippi. Known for his low alto beautiful voice, he loved praising God and singing gospel music. Jerome, also known as "Big Sweet", left Jackson in 1975, and headed up north to Rochester, NY to start his new life. Sweet relocated to Rochester, and started working for Rochester Products from 1975 to 1985. Sweet worked very hard to learn as much as possible within the factory and manufacturing business, and eventually was offered a fulltime position as one of the managers at Rochester Products. During Sweet's spare time when he wasnt working, he loved to go fishing and have extravagant fish fry's and block parties for his neighborhood, where he would give out all types of food, clothing, and items that could be used at home for neighbors in need. In 1977, Sweet met Eula Mae, and they wed together, where they had 4 children together. Danny, Jim, Rosetta, and Jurina were the reasoning behind Sweet's big heart of gold. He loved spending time with his family, making memories. Family was so important to Jerome, and one of the reasons that he will be missed greatly. During the time his children were small in age, Jerome would take his children to church every Sunday while his wife was working, and was a big part of his home Church New Bethel financially, and as a member. Sweet is responsible for funding many upgrades to his church, as well as funding most of the youth's activities that kept them busy throughout the summer.
Jerome "Big Sweet" is predeceased by his wife Eula Mae, whom he loved dearly. HIs three living children: Danny, Jim and Rosetta, predeceased by his daughter Jurina, along with having over 22 granddaughters and grandsons: Brandi Daniels, Ashley Daniels, Shardae Daniels, Poppy Daniels, Jerome Sr, Destiny Hardwell, Samiyah Brinks. Damon Daniels and Sweetie May Daniels. A host of great grandchildren, cousins, aunts and uncles, all of Rochester, NY, and Jackson, Mississippi. We are forever grateful to have Sweet as a father, husband, grandfather and friend; and would like to extend our graces from the Daniels family to all that have supported us through this difficult time.
