Jerardo Jerry Montes LUBBOCK-Jerardo Jerry Montes passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016. We will gather for rosary service and fellowship beginning at 7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Jerry was born on Nov. 19, 1954, to Juan and Felipa (Gomez) Montes in Lockney. On June 1, 1974, he married Josephine Valdez in Lubbock. Jerry worked as a welder and ending his career he worked for Texas Tech University as a steam-fitter. Jerry loved his family and making sure they were always taken care of was his first priority. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed old western movies. He was preceded in death by his father, Juan Montes; a son, Jerry Montes, Jr.; a brother, Ricardo Montes; and a sister, Virginia Montes. He is survived by his loving wife, Josephine Montes; his mother, Felipa Montes; two daughters, Roxanne Montes (Michael), and Lisa Markley (Don); eight grandchildren, Michael, Joshua, Yisell, Josiah, Idaly, Jovonnie, Brooklyn and Kingston; and a great-granddaughter, Aaliyah; a brother, John Montes; and a sister, Rebecca Hernandez.
