Janet (nee Wack) RussoOxnard, CAJanet Russo (n?e Wack) died peacefully at Community Memorial Hospital on December 27, 2016 in Ventura, CA at the age of 82.She is survived by her children Joe, John, Ralph, and Tony and her sister Verne. Also Diane, Patty, Marie, and Melynda, her daughters-in-law. She is preceded in death by her husband James, son Jim, and siblings Bob, Richard, Shirley, and Bonnie.Janet was born on May 9, 1934 in Chicago, IL to Edward Wack & Louise Wack. She married James on October 14, 1950. In the early 1970s Janet and her family migrated to California. They packed up their 1950 International Bus that had been converted into a motorhome and made their way west. The motorhome read 'The Russos' on the back in glistening chrome. After some time in Los Angeles she finally made her home in Oxnard, CA.Janet was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was constantly and lovingly surrounded by her family's numerous offspring which includes 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, a big point of pride for her. She was able to remember everyone's birthday without fail.She displayed her deep affection for her family through crafting, cooking, and baking. Every holiday featured a Janet Russo signature dish.The close second to her love of family was Janet's affection for Bingo. If you were wondering where she was at any given time you'd have the most luck finding her at local Bingo halls in and around Ventura County.A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday January 7, 2017 at 10am at All Saints Episcopal Church, with a reception to immediately follow at the Oxnard Elks Lodge from 11-1pm. Pastor Melissa Campbell-Langdell will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Janet's life.
