Jane Matilda (Stolz) King died on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, in Craig at the age of 71.Jane is survived by her husband, Virgil Richard (Dick) King of Craig; her two sons, Virgil Richard (Diane) King Jr. and Bradley Phillip (Kristy) King, both of Craig; and her daughter, Kelly Lynn (Fred) Kaemerer, of Highlands Ranch.She is also survived by her wonderful grandchildren, Casey (Kaci) Martin of Colorado Springs, Cameron Martin, Carlin King and Cayden King, all of Craig, Madison and Nicholas Kaemerer of Highlands Ranch, and Ashley (Mike) Peters, Josey and Kori King, all of Craig. Her great-grandchildren, Allie Jo and Kinley are also both of Craig.Jane is survived by her sister, Bernita (Stolz) Boyette of Englewood and her brother, Herman Stolz of Denver.She is also survived by many loving members of the King, Hinkhouse and Keirnes families of Burlington, Denver and Castle Rock.She is preceded in death by her parents as well as three brothers and two sisters.Jane was born on Nov. 30, 1944 in Vona, to Emil and Martha (Lohr) Stolz and moved to Burlington when she was nine years old.She was an avid swimmer throughout her life, and worked as a lifeguard while in high school.She was a member of the Burlington High School cheerleading squad and was crowned Miss Kit Carson County in 1961.She graduated from Burlington High School in 1962 and married Dick King on Nov. 10, 1962 in Denver. After moving to Craig in 1972, the couple owned and managed multiple businesses, including King's Automotive and Big A Auto Parts.The family has owned and operated Auto Parts of Craig since 1980.Jane was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was happiest when she was spending time with her family – fishing, camping, gardening at her ranch and cheering on multiple generations of her family's basketball players at Moffat County High School.She enjoyed many hobbies including genealogy and collecting antiques and could always be found at the counter of the parts store sharing stories about her grandchildren.A funeral took place Friday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Craig.Memorial donations may be made to Love, Inc., in care of Grant Mortuary, 621 Yampa Ave., Craig, CO 81625.
