Life well lived

James Pierson, 71, of Orlando, Florida, passed Monday, August 06, 2018 due to kidney failure. James was born April 12, 1947, to Marshall and Helen Pierson.

He is survived by his kids; Kirk Pierson, Keenya Melvin, and Nancy  Russ. His grandkids; Shaniel Harvey, Cornelius Pierson, Michael Harvey, Kenya Pierson, Dwayne Russ. He outlived his brother Gene Pierson, and sister Gaitha Pierson.

He spent his early years as part of the U.S. Coastguard as a seaman, before moving into the contracting business. He would continue in This field until the birth of his son (Kirk Pierson) 1974. He worked as a mechanic for the next 14 years. He worked off and on until his retirement to nearby Ocala, Florida in 1997 where he would spend the remainder of his life.

James was well known around his community as a good man, he’d spend most of his days fishing and horseback riding. He had a true love for his grandkids and a deep appreciation for life. He declined to spend the rest of his days at the hospice house of Marion county, to instead be home with his family. He will be truly missed.
