Jacob Alson Williams, 64, died Sunday, April 18, 2020 at the Promise Hospital of Baton Rouge following a brief illness.
He leaves his wife of 47 years, Shannon (Jacobs) Williams; his son, Robert Williams and his companion, Sadie Williams; his daughter, Pamela WIlliams; his cousin, Raymond Williams; eight grandchildren; and many close friends.
Born and raised in Baton Rouge, the son of Jack and Ashlyn (Spears) Williams, he was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge.
In his early years, Mr. Williams would help sell snow balls for the family's business, Igloo. After graduating from Capitol High School in 1974, he attended Southern University, graduating in 1978 with a bachelor's degree in Biology. He met his wife, Shannon Jacobs, at church and they were married in 1979 at Greater King Baptist church.
Mr. Williams had a passion for the younger generation and was the youth leader at his church. For years, he would arrange events and trips for the youth.
An avid golfer, he was a longtime member of Country Club of Louisiana. He served on the board of directors the Country Club and for his church, Greater King David.
A funeral service was held April 23rd from Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral home, with private burial.
