Helen Clark, 71, of Chicago, Illinois, passed on December 02, 2021. Helen was born on April 05, 1950, in Hollandale Mississippi to George Mason and Helen Cotton. To this union 7 children were born
Helen was their first daughter after 5 sons, so she was
known as "Sister" by her entire family and friends. Helen
confessed Christ at an early age at the New Hope Baptist
Church in Hollandale, Mississippi.
In 1950, she relocated to Chicago before settling in
Kankakee Illinois, and in 1956 she moved back to Chicago.
She joined the Pleasant Gift M.B. Church under Reverend
R.L Buckner, Pastor, and Reverend H.S. Nichols. In 2005
she moved her membership to Emmanuel Baptist Church
under Reverend Rogers W. Jackson, Pastor.
Helen attended school in Hollandale. After her 5 children
were born, she returned to night school in Chicago to receive
her high school diploma. In 1967, she married, the love of
her life, Lennon Clark, who was her second husband, and was
a father to all her children and had a special bond with their
grandchildren. He drove them to college, baseball games.
dinners, and family reunions. Lennon preceded her in death
in 2010.
Helen was also preceded in death by her parents, 3
brothers, 1 sister. She leaves to cherish her
memory and carry on her legacy, 5 children Demitrius (Arlene),
Sylvester, Rhonda (Tracey), Cynthia (Kalvin), Marlene (Michael), :
22 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren. She also leaves 2 sisters, Loretha Aaron and
Bessie Terrell, one brother in law Fred Winfield, and manv
nephews and nieces and a host of cousins and friends.
We are grateful that Helen "Sister, Mama, Granny" was a
part of our lives. For we believe that because of her presence
our lives were enriched. We will remember her candid
remarks, loving spirit, kindness, desire to enjoy life, and her
love for family and friends.
