Celebration of Life
Hattie Bostic was born on September 25, 1926 to Otis and Ardelia Brantley (deceased)
in Terrytown, Georgia. She gained her heavenly wings on February 17, 2021.
Hattie Bostic, was a loving mother to her only son, Lee "Pete" Bostic (Maurita), grandmother of (3),
great- grandmother (6), great great-grandmother (1) and a loving friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her father, Otis Brantley, mother, Ardelia Brantley, brother, Willie Brantley, Brother Hewitt Brantley and sister-in-law Patricia Brantley.
She moved to Washington, D .C. in 1943 where she remained a resident until her passing.
Early in life she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and soon after found her spiritual home at
10th Street Baptist Church. She was a single parent and courageously continued to raise her son Lee Bostic while also being a mother figure to her late brother Hewitt Brantley and his daughter Terri Brantley.
She worked at the U. S. Soldier’s Home, where she eventually retired after 35 years of dedicated service..
After retirement, Hattie remained an active member of the Church. She continued with her hobbies and adventures. In her early years, she loved to travel and explore with her church members/family and friends. She always had one day a week saved
to go fishing and other days to tend to her beautiful fresh garden. Hattie was a wonderful cook and was always delighted to make her infamous fried chicken and cakes for others.
Hattie had a flair for fashion that was inspiring to many. She loved to wear her beautiful hats and Church outfits. she participated in Fashion Shows wearing her gorgeous outfits. As an active member in the Ever Ready Church Choir for many years She would share with us how she would Stut down the aisle with the Choir.
She loved the lord and lived her life as a dedicated woman of faith. After a fruitful 94 years of life Hattie will be dearly missed and forever regarded as a beautiful, righteous, dependable woman.
She is survived by her son Lee Bostic, daughter-in-law Maurita Bostic, grandchildren, Lee Bostic (Felicia), Derrick Bostic (Diana) and Melanie Zelaya (Julio), great grandchildren - Kheonzia Franklin, Erick Bostic, Derrick Pete Bostic, Andrew Bostic, Lee C. Bostic and Mauricio Zelaya, The Wells Family of Atlanta, cousins Brenda Lewis, Susan Griffin and Sinclair Griffin. She has an extended family of daughters of God - Mary Smallwood, Lona Johnson, Helon Smith, Virginia Brickhouse, Margaret McQueen and Francis Butler whom she cherished..
