Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 PM with interment to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.Mrs. Speed was born on May 14, 1921 in Shivers, MS to the late William and Dora Mullins Polk. She was a longtime member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church. She was active in the Women's Missionary Union and her Sunday School class at her church. She is preceded in death by her husbands, John L. Collins and William Speed, Sr.; son, Robert Clyde Collins; step-son, Bill Speed, Jr.; and 11 siblings.Mrs. Speed is survived by her children, John Louis Collins (Pam), Pamela Joyce Collins Moss (Patrick Merriman), and Cathy Nell Collins Garrett (Jimmy); step-daughter, Carolyn Williams (Bill); grandchildren, Robin Kennedy, Craig Collins, Casey Collins, Anna Moss, Carleigh Melton, Shelby Newell, Becky Fuller, and Randy Williams; numerous great and great-great grandchildren.Please visit lakewoodfuneralhomes.com for online guestbook.
