Georgia Lee Spikes Hunter was born on June 14, 1938, to George Calvin Spikes and Leria Thomas Spikes she was the first born and the eldest of eight. She departed this life and gained her heavenly wings on
May 09, 2020.
She accepted Christ at an early age where she was Baptized at Hickory Grove Baptist Church Indian Hill Community Wiergate, TX.
She attended Wiergate Elementary and High School. Georgia was a graduate of the class 0f 1956. 
She attended Tyler and Sweats Beauty College. She was an instructor and Dewberry Beauty College,
Tyler, Tx. 
Her Journey took her to Oakland, CA where she met and married LeRoy Hunter Sr. in 1965. They brought six children into their union. Following the Lord, she then journeyed from Oakland, CA to Freeport,IL. During her 44 of marriage and residence in Freeport, she worked at Freeport Memorial Hospital and retired from Parkview Retirement Center. 
Georgia started Pastoring at Second Baptist Freeport, IL during a time when women weren't recognized for their ministering abilities.  She continued to press toward God's higher calling. Georgia Pastored Blessed Hope, Madison, WI; Christ Mission, Milwaukee, WI. Assistant Pastor at St James CME, Freeport, IL; Miles Memorial, Rockford, IL; Pleasant Hill CME, Farrsville, TX. She was the president of Church  Women United, Freeport, Il; President of Freeport Bowling League, Freeport, IL, Director of Second Baptist Youth Department, Sick and Shut-In Ministry, Freeport, Il. Worked for Children and Family Services, Rockford, . Assisting displayed children and families in need. Worked on Freeport City Counsel. Mentored many. She was blessed to go to Washington, DC to the Senate. Visited with Prime Minister Desmond TuTu. Visited Jerusalem, Prayed at the Mecca, Baptized in the River Jordan. She loved the Lord with all her heart. Never met a stranger. Helped everyone In need. 
Cherished and Loved proceeded in death:  Belinda M Spikes (daughter), LeRoy Sr. (husband), Maude Marie (daughter), LeRoy Jr. (son), Mary Catherine (granddaughter).
Georgia leaves to cherish her memories: Her daughter Maria/Teddy, Dallas, TX, Her Sons; Roland, Ronald Hunter; Perris, CA; Her Beloved Grandsons; Darrell A Brooks Jr. (Dallas, TX), Jamio/Ashley Brooks (Dallas, TX) Joseph? Teresa Freeman Jr (Freeport, IL) Her Golden Child: Aristio/Lovely Brooks, (Dallas, TX) Her Granddaughters; Katrina Burrow and Evelyn Brown, (Highpoint, NC) Honorable Mention her Chug-A-Lug aka (Aristia J. Brooks), Dallas, TX.
Honoring her Sisters and Brother in the Ministry for all the years of praying, teaching, and listening, love and devotion: Minister Donna, Beryl, Larry, Tyus,
         Darcela, Ms. Jones.                                  
Special love to Theodore Jenkins, Son-In-Law, and her Friend of many years Laurel Munger.
