George Jacob DavidGeorge J. David, E.E., 102 years' young of Fort Collins, Colorado passed away peaceably at home on February 26, 2017. George was born on October 7, 1914 in Lincoln, Nebraska to George David, Sr., and Mollie (Fox) David. His sister, Shirley Mohr David of Omaha, Nebraska preceded him in death.George and the late Alberta Newell David married on October 14, 1940 and together they had three children, Terry Kugrens, Stephen David and Bradley David, all from Colorado. George loved to dance. He met Nancy Lashbrook on the dance floor and they were married in December 2000.George had a very interesting and productive life. He graduated from the University of Nebraska with an Electrical Engineering degree. He worked for Joseph Seagram's in the world's largest distillery as a Power Engineer. George left Seagram's to work for the war effort at Western Electric. Western Electric and Bell Labs had a contract with the U.S. Military to build land and air based radar systems to assist the war effort in Europe. When the war was over, Bell Labs wanted George to work for them in New York. George and his wife, being Mid-Western, decided they had enough of the East and returned to Lincoln, Nebraska. It was here that he had a future with American Stores Lincoln Packing Company. George's new job was to rebuild the plant, which was a huge success. He ran it until 1980, when he retired at the age of 65.George was a 50-year Mason and Amateur Radio Operator. In past years, he was also a Shriner. He enjoyed his longevity by reading, working the stock market and running his computers; this kept his mind sharp for his 102 years.George is survived by his wife, Nancy and his three children, Stephen David, Terry Kugrens and Bradley David; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.In his later years, his favorite place was at home, enjoying the fireplace. George was true to himself and lived his life with no regrets. With the help of Pathway's Hospice, he was able to live out his life at home until the end.
