A Life Well Lived

September 12, 2018, is the day my father left this beautiful Earth to be with our Lord in heaven. My father was not only my dad, he was my best friend. He is and will forever be my hero.

My Father...

If you did not get the chance to meet my father, he was and still is a great and wonderful, loving and caring man. He was a man with a great mind and a beautiful heart... to me it was a heart of gold.

My father was a selflessness man. He did what he could when he could for anyone and everyone who ever reached out to him for a helping hand. He was always available, always there for people and always went above and beyond. And when he gave, he did so without ever expecting anything in return. He always gave from his heart.

My father was an optimistic man. So optimistic that it would radiate on to others and somehow put people in positive vibes just like him. He was always in a good spirit; just being around him would put you in an all around better mood. Being the positive person that he was, he always looked upward, never downward. He kept smiling and continued to display his humbled sense of humor. That smile of his was contagious and his laughter was the seal of a new and forever friendship.

Through any hard times or rough patched or even setbacks in life that he may have experienced, he didn't let moments like that bring him down. He'd always speak of greater and better times to come. He had a level of confidence that you just knew - things were going to be just fine. And just to confirm, he was always right. Those patches of life always passed and the better and greater times he'd speak of always came through.

Along with his optimism, I must include his very forgiving heart. He was not one to hold grudges or speak of ill manner upon people. Even when people pushed to a level of unforgiveness, he somehow found it in his heart to forgive the unforgiving. He wanted good for himself but he always wanted greater for everyone else. He wanted all to be up high, so if you were low, he'd even reach out and ask or offer a hand. He always put others first. My Father reached many people and definitely touched many lives and hearts.

My Dad...

My dad was a great example. He was a terrific leader and a wonderful man to look up to. He guided, mentored, encouraged and uplifted as many as he could along his journey, including me. He made impacts and changed many lives for the greater and better purposes of life, love, and family. My Dad inspired me and taught me so much in life. He was my coach, my counselor and many times my teacher. Yes... he was a man of many hats. And he wore them all to the best of his ability. His words of wisdom, his knowledge in life and just plain old love for his daughter are what guided me and always stirred me in all the right directions. To me, in my eyes, he truly was the best man I've ever known. On top of being there for people, and working to make his own, he always had time for me. He was my phone call away. And no matter what we talked about, he always knew what to say. This man was incredibly smart, even when I was being cheeky with him... even when I needed correction... even when I just needed him to just listen... no matter what - Dad's wisdom, knowledge, and love never failed me. My dad wasn't of materialism. Though he liked nice things and worked very hard for everything he ever had, he made sure to also provide laughter, safety, security, assurance, forgiveness and most importantly... his love. I am one lucky daughter. I am blessed that God chose him to be my dad, my best friend, and my hero.

I love you Dad - I will miss you. But God said it was time for you to go home. So I will see you at home later.
