Family & Friends are invited to celebrate the life of Essie H. "Ms. Mac" McCarthy, 76, on Friday, November 13th, 2020. Gifted to us on April 14, 1944 in Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica, she is survived by her 6 children (Mark McCarthy, Rudolph McCarthy, Patricia Lawrence, Denise McCarthy, David McCarthy, and Lutchia Gayle), 7 grandchildren, siblings and cousins.

A viewing will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, November 13th, 2020 at 11:30am, followed by the funeral at 1:30 p.m. which will be broadcasted live via zoom and facebook.

Essie was born in Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica. She lived in Kingston, Jamaica where she married her late husband, Lloyd McCarthy and raised her 6 children before relocating to the United States. She worked various jobs as a caretaker after relocating to Miami, FLorida in 1992. A relentless worker, she sacrificed much to ensure her children had the best opportunities available to them. Her heroic sacrificies continue to inspire those who knew her. Her personality was one of sheer will, determination, and endurance. There was nothing she felt she could not achieve and welcomed anything/anyone who would dare challenge her beliefs. She was a fighter who overcame much more than most and we are eternally grateful for having benefitted from her hard work.
