Edna Jane BlueNorfolk - Edna Jane Blue was born on July 3, 1943 in Elberton, Georgia. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 28, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Edna was one of thirteen children. She preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and Marvin Fortson, Sr.; one son, Therell N. Blue, Jr.; three brothers and three sisters. Edna was educated in the Norfolk Public School System. She received an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing from Norfolk State University in 1979. She retired from Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center after 34 years of service. She leaves to mourn her husband, Therell Blue of 59 years, four daughters and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be held, 1:30pm, Friday, February 3, 2017 at Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby Chapel. A viewing will be held, 4pm-8pm, Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at her place of residence one hour prior to the service for procession to the funeral home.
