Douglas James was born on January 15, 1957 to Frank James and Yvonne Bruno in Harlem N.Y., He was the first born to them both.... Doug or Dougie as they called him was very close to both of his parents, his father he always looked up too and wanted to be like and his Mother who was his Best friend whom he loved and was inseparable from his birth to the very end of his worldly life and will continue in the next life....He was very talented and could sing very well, when he was about 12-13 he was singing outside and someone heard him and ask if he would like to perform on The Apollo? He ask Mom's, mom's said yes, but that didn't turn out so well because it was then he found out he had stage fright, mom's said "I don't know what he was singing!!" But that didn't stop his popularity amounts his peers and his siblings Vaughn and Shawn Bruno, Mike Bruno, and Terrence James who looked up to him and Porsha and Tiffany Bruno his younger sisters who loved him whom he adored. He was very athletic and devloped a love for basketball, boxing, playing handball and Martial arts he loved spending time with his siblings taking them to Kun fu movies....He quickly became a ladies man and in 1972 he met his first love Yvonne Chapman and in 1973 had his first son Douglas Chapman and daughter Tasha Chapman in 1974. At this time he was in living between houses in the Bronx with mom's and in Queens with his father and his father's wife Beverly James and brother Terrance. While in H.S. he started working with his father in the "family business" and in his father's restaurant called My Place in Harlem as a Chef, he was the center of attention everywhere he went....Time passed and Dougie met his first wife Gena James who he had his son Sacon Marquise James, some time later Gena had passed which caused him great greif.. But he found comfort in his next wife Beverly James who had his 2 sons Alphonso James and Cassem James...He worked in Security and Construction and Some time later he had a run in with the law and through a long separation had got a Divorce. While locked up he embrace Islam where he became Abdul Wadud salaam (servant of The loving peace) and after coming home reconnected with a long time love Vinnie Brown and moved to Syracuse N.y. they separated a little while after... Douglas was a father, a son, a brother, a Muslim and a friend, very protective, he was actually the family Protector, as a Father and a Big Brother he taught the men how to be men, be strong, , be a fighter, be cool, Hussle, get educated, and of course get women. To his Mom's, sisters daughter and women in his life he was protective and loving and was very giving to his friends and family when Doug had money everybody had money!!... He was the life of the party, love poetry, Music à nd God... In his later life he used cab driving as a means of supporting himself financially... Douglas passed accepting his fate...we will be having his going away on Friday Oct 28,2022 The funeral is at
