Douglas F. C. Scott ISeptember 27, 1948 - August 18, 2016Spring GroveDouglas Frankiln Clayton Scott I was a loving father, husband, brother and friend. He was the husband of Janet (Powell) Scott.Douglas was born on Sept. 27, 1948, to the late(s) Dudley and Gedell (Reddish) Scott.Douglas is survived by his wife and his six children, Temeko M. Scott, Douglas F. C. Scott II (Erneshia), Brent A. Scott (Monica), Damon B. Scott (Amber), Gena Clancy, Patrick Clancy (Tracey); and three stepchildren, Yolanda Dickson, January Dickson and Cortez Dickson (TyeSse); 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three siblings, Charlene Scott (Deborah), Gedell J. Hawkins (Larry) and Ricardo Loper; two nieces, Kharisma Harrison and Breah Loper; nephew, Lemont Harrison; and a host of other family members and friends.Douglas graduated from William Penn Sr. High School in 1967 where he played football. He was inducted into Wm. Penn Sports Hall of Fame in 2006. Douglas played semi-pro football for the York Colonials, Cumberland Colts and the York Lions. He also spent countless years as a volunteer youth football coach for the East End Bullfrog and the Spring Grove Jets. He later became an assisted coach for the Wm. Penn Bearcats for nine years.Douglas worked for Medusa Limestone & Cement Co. and retired after 25 years of service.In addition to his parents, Douglas was preceded in death by his brother, Freddy; a granddaughter, Dominique Scott; a nephew, Kelle Berry; and a step grandson, Shah Jordan.A viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from 9-11 a.m. at Wheatfield Church of the Living God, 341 Wheatfield St., York, PA 17403 and A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ramona Kinard officiating. Interment will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York.Boulding Mortuary Inc., is handling arrangements.
