Eichhorst, DorothyDorothy Eichhorst, age 79, of Manitowoc, died on December 3, 2016 at home with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. Dorothy was born on June 3, 1937 in Manitowoc to the late Alois and Cyrilla (Walters) Rozmarynowski. She graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School in 1955 and on August 8, 1959 married Allen R. Eichhorst of Reedsville at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Manitowoc. Allen preceded her in death on July 23, 1988. Dorothy worked various jobs throughout her life including Mirro and her latest was at Dollar Tree. Her enjoyments included bowling, cards, casino trips, gardening and cheering on her children and grandchildren at various sporting and school events. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi and former member of the Democratic Party. Dorothy is survived by her children: Cindy and Jim Stephani, Laura and John Matthies, Jill and Jim Zewicki, Brian Eichhorst and Beth Isings, Amy and Charles Bordeau, Manitowoc; grandchildren include: Daniel (Jenny) Stephani, St. Nazianz, WI, Craig Matthies, Seattle, WA, Jason Matthies, Manitowoc, WI, Joshua Stephani, Olympia, WA, Michael Zewicki, Dakota Bordeau, Alicia Zewicki, Dominic Bordeau, and Beau Eichhorst, all of Manitowoc; step-granddaughter: LaTarra Bordeau, Florida; great-grandchildren: Kaylee Matthies, Emma Stephani, Hannah Matthies, Minerva Bordeau, and Brady Stephani; several step-grandchildren survive; other survivors include: two sisters and brothers-in-law Joan (Vernon) Jaeger and Janet (Roger) Paul; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law LeRoy Eichhorst and Don (Pat) Eichhorst. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and many other relatives and numerous friends. She was also preceded in death by her son Patrick and grandson Austin Eichhorst, her parents, brother Robert Rozmarynowski, sister and brothers-in-law Judy and Leonard Klosinski, mother-in-law Louise Eichhorst and several other family members.The family wishes to extend a sincere thanks to Dr. Matt Campbell and his staff, Dr. Lynn Baatz and Dr. Minnehan along with the entire staff of Holy Family Memorial's Cancer Center for extending her life with warmth and genuine concern. Also special thanks to the Hospice team that made her passing comfortable and we are especially grateful to the Hospice RN's Kim, Jane and Rachel and to the CNA's Pat, Debbie and Carol who made her laugh and gave great and tender care. Dorothy was very grateful for the compassion and support of Pink Heals. Thanks to all the wonderful family and friends who called and visited, you will never be forgotten. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home (928 South 14th Street), Manitowoc, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, where a Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday morning, December 10, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand (1416 Grand Avenue, Manitowoc) from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, Manitowoc. Officiating the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. David Beaudry with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. The Pfeffer Funeral Home and All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
