Dorothy Mae Boatwright-Wilson Raleigh Dorothy Mae Boatwright-Wilson, 80, of Raleigh, formerly of Rockbridge County, VA, passed away peacefully after a long, beautiful life on this earth on Tuesday, November 15, 2016. Dorothy was born on November 6, 1936 in Rockbridge County, VA to the late Charlie Beverly and Nettie Burley Cash. Dorothy was preceded in death by her late husbands, G. Lee Boatwright and Donald Biggerstaff; and her brother, Junior Beverly. She is survived by her loving children, Ronnie L. Beverly (Cindy), Larry W. Lipscomb (Marty), Deborah Gail King, and Gloria Ann Plato (Kevin); two brothers, Lonny Beverly (Susan) and James Beverly; two sisters, Edna Moran and Betty Ramsey (Robert); three grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special niece, Joyce Olson. She is also survived by her loving husband Dwight Wilson and his children. Dorothy considered Faith Baptist Church in Knightdale, NC to be her "other family" and treasured her time there. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Apex Funeral Home in Apex with Pastor Mick Bowman to officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Burial service will follow the funeral at Apex Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Lee Readling with Transitions LifeCare for the tireless care she showed Dorothy throughout her journey with hospice.
