Donald W. Nelson 1928 - 2015 Donald W. Nelson, 86, of Twin Lakes passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2015, at his home with his loving family by his side. Don was born on April 11, 1928, in Kenosha to William and Rose (Rocknowski) Nelson. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Kenosha High School. Don married Winifred "Jill" Brand on June 7, 1975 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Kenosha. He worked for American Motors for over 30 years until his retirement in 1988. Don and Jill enjoyed traveling together and attending flea markets. He also enjoyed woodworking and working on antique cars, especially the 1941 Ford he restored with his son. Dons greatest joy was the time he spent with his family. He was preceded in death by, his parents; his sister, Rose Hill; and his step-son, Patrick Murray. Left to remember Don is, his loving wife of 39 1/2 years, Jill Nelson of Twin Lakes; his son, Rick Nelson of Wheeling, Ill.; his daughter, Kim Nelson of Kenosha; two step-daughters, Michelle (David) Murray-Budwick and Debbie Conforti both of Kenosha; nine grandchildren; 10 great grandsons and 6 great granddaughters as well as many other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services for Don will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2015, at the Hansen-Lendman Funeral Home with interment to follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Alliance would be greatly appreciated. Dons family would like to give their sincerest gratitude to Hospice Alliance for the care and compassion they showed him through this difficult time.
