Dennis Leroy McClean, 74, lost his battle with cancer, and died peacefully in his sleep on July 30, 2019 in Austin, Texas. 

Dennis “Leroy” McClean was born in San Fernando on the Caribbean island of Trinidad. He was an original Sando Sagaboy. “It’s not my party…it’s your party,” was his refrain.  He lived in St. Croix, USVI, the state of Maryland, and Austin, Texas. He lived and worked in Austin for the last 35 years of his life. He played with the St. Croix Philharmonic Steel Orchestra and worked in numerous clubs. He was well known in the vibrant Austin entertainment scene. 

Dennis is survived by his daughter, Chima McClean; his grandchildren Clifford Rodgers, Ciara McClean, Chania Hart Christian Clarke, Cayden Warren and great grandchild Caleb McCracon.
