Clyde Carr Jr. Obituary
May 15, 1982 - Jul 12, 2022
This obituary is administered by:
A life well lived
The man. The myth. The carpentry legend.
Men wanted to be him and women wanted to be with him.
Clyde “Bookie” Carr, II., 41, passed away on July 12, 2023.
Weary of reading obituaries noting someone’s courageous battle with death, Clyde Jr. would have wanted it known that he most likely died as a result of being stubborn, in some way or another. He enjoyed working, Bud light, guns, and cars until the day he died…not necessarily in that order. He hated flowers and hypocrites…not necessarily in that order. He was also great at pissing people off, grilling chicken and ribs, dodging the cops, making everyone feel appreciated, and hitting Coke bottles thirty yards out with his .22. And when it came to carpentry, Clyde Jr. was the best at what he did and he loved doing it.
The wake and funeral service for Clyde Jr. will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Harrells Funeral home, 212 S Dickerson st, Burgaw, NC. Viewing and visitation will be held before the service.
When Clyde took off, he left behind: his parents, Mr. Clyde Carr Sr. and Victoria Carr; his wife, Daniella Carr; sons, Isaiah Kenan and Tylek Carr; his two brothers, Glenn Carr and Patrick Duffy Car; his little sister and sidekick, Sabrina Carr; cousins; nieces and nephews; many, many, maybe even way too many, loving and supportive neighbors; and all of his childhood friends.
Clyde asks that you stop by his memorial service in Burgaw and re-tell some of the stories he can no longer share. May he Rest In Peace
