Christine Laverne Barnes departed this life Dec 5, 2018. She is preceded in death by her late (Mother) Mollie R. Barnes and survived by her (Father) Leon Johnson, two kids (Daughter) Omeisha Barnes, (Son) De'Andre Barnes, 4 (Grandkids) Kyliel Williams, Ellijahy Barnes-Williams, Jordyn Pinkney, Mackenzie Tunstall, 2 (Sisters) Lisa Barnes, Revelle Barnes. A devoted companion Kevin Barnes, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Psalms 27:

The lord is my light and salvation. Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid? (2) When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall. (3) Though an army besieges me, my hear will not fear; though war breaks out against me, even then I will be confident. (4) One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in the temple. (5) For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of this sacred tent and set me high a rock.

Poem

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free. I'm following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard him call. I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day. To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found that peace has left a void, then fill it up with laugh, a kiss, oh, yes these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you sushine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much. Good friends, good time seemed all too brief. Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now he set me free!
