POCATELLO - Christine Frost Kettler, 60, of Pocatello, Idaho, passed away peacefully of sudden illness at a local hospital on Thursday, November 21, 2013. She was born on May 23, 1953 in Pocatello, Idaho to George W. and Ruth (Zilk) Frost. She grew up in Pocatello and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1971. She served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict and was given an honorable discharge. She married Lawrence Earl Kettler of Williamsport, Pa. They later divorced. To this union were born sons, Christopher Lawrence Kettler, Jack Brion Kettler; and a daughter, Kathleen "Katy" Victoria (Kettler) Salley. Christine enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking, turtles and being around her family. She especially loved to read and spend time with her grandchildren. She was extremely proud of two things - her family and being a Marine. Christine was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, George F. Frost and Helen A. (Walters) Frost; maternal grandparents, John Zilk and Christine (Brockel) Zilk; stepmother Annie D. Frost; aunt, Dorothy Zilk Walsh; uncle, Roy Zilk; and a cousin, Michelle Soden. She is survived by her father George W. (Geri) Frost of Pocatello, Idaho; mother Ruth Zilk Frost of Pocatello, Idaho; brother Dee Frost of Pocatello, Idaho; twin sister Kathleen (Gary) Mauch of Salt Lake City, Utah; and brother David (Corrine) Frost of Pocatello, Idaho; son Christopher Lawrence (Karin) Kettler of Dorr, MI; son Jack Brion (Amanda) Kettler of Pocatello, Idaho; and daughter Kathleen "Katy" Victoria (Daniel) Salley of Pocatello, Idaho. She is also survived by four grandchildren (Tucker Salley, Shelby Kettler, Maddux Salley and Camron Kettler) as well as numerous, deeply cared for, aunts, uncles, cousins , nieces and nephews. She will be sorely missed by everyone that knew her. Semper Fi. As per her wishes, Christine was cremated under the care and direction of Downard Funeral Home. Military Rites will be offered by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at Mountain View Cemetery with a gathering of family and friends to follow.
