Cheryl Cain 62, of Pensacola, Florida passed Monday, April 20, 2020. Cheryl was born to Donald and Elizabeth (Garner) Cain, March 05, 1958 in Bay Minette, Alabama. Cheryl had one brother Thomas (Kevin) Cain and his wife Andrea of Pensacola. Wayne and Roy Cain from Alabama and Georgia respectively, first cousins from her father's identical twin Douglas Cain, more brothers than cousins. Robin (Garner) Ammons, Cheryl's first cousin and dear friend kept her well informed of all relevant family topics.

Cheryl graduated from Baldwin County High School in 1976 and received a master's degree in social work from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1981. Cheryl was the first grandchild of Conrad and Amelia Garner to earn a master's degree. She retired after 30 plus years as a dedicated social worker. Gene Von Bon, Cheryl's friend, baseball buddy, "Man about Town" and now, formal member of our family says, "She passed as she lived, trying to help those whose needs are many and offerings are few."

Cheryl and brother Kevin's formative years were spent with two very close neighbors and friends, Sharee (Coleman) Scott and Ann (Coleman) Annison. Without their love and friendship our lives and futures would have been inexorably poorer.

Cheryl's college friendships were forged with great love and respect. Her tenacity for hard work and propensity for fun earned her the title of "Colonel Cain" eventually rising in rank to "Admiral Cain". Their friendships and acceptance helped both Cheryl and her brother Kevin through many wonderful as well as grim times. Cheryl is now with Buster and Joleen, dancing to Jimmy Buffett and Marcia Ball. We raise a toast to their friendship, happiness and love.

Cheryl had a profound love for animals of all kind. She got one of her babies, Chloe, from the Hotel for Dogs and Cats where she actually volunteered. They kindly accepted Chloe back along with Rosco, her other dog. They have both been adopted into loving homes. They are a no kill shelter and do background checks before every adoption. If you would like to donate something in Cheryl's name I know she and they would be most grateful.
