A Life Well Lived

Carlyle LeSane, 67, of Dallas, Texas, passed on March 02, 2023. Carlyle was born on January 04, 1956. Deacon Carlyle LeSane was born on January 4, 1956, in Florence SC. He was the youngest and eleventh son of the late Malachi and Ozella Abrams LeSane. He entered his eternal rest on Thursday evening, May 5th, 2022, at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center in Hartsville, South Carolina.

Deacon Carlyle always had a joyful spirit. “TO KNOW HIM, WAS TO LOVE HIM.” He loved to laugh and have fun. There was never a bad time with Carlyle because he was always just that happy. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend always kind to and loving to all whom he met.

He attended public schools in Florence, South Carolina, and graduated from West Florence High School in 1974.

Deacon Carlyle LeSane united with Macedonia Holiness Church in the early 1970s, where he served faithfully until his health began to decline. He was a dedicated active member serving in many capacities over a span of more than 40 years. He loved the Lord. He loved serving the Lord. He upheld many duties willingly including Head Deacon, Usher, Trustee, and Choir Member. He was a true believer in God. Even during illness, he continued to keep his faith and made sure he was in church serving God.

Carlyle loved watching Football and was a committed Pittsburgh Steelers fan in his leisure time. In his spare time, Carlyle also had a passion for cooking most of all and was great at it. He enjoyed the outdoors and working in the yards. Throughout his working days, Carlyle was a “Jack of all trades.” If he could not fix it, he would tear it up and fix it back the way he thought it should be. Duct tape and spray paint were his handy tools. Carlyle was a hardworking man. He was employed and retired from Carpenter Technology in 2001.

On April 28, 1979, he was united in love to Betty Jean McDonald LeSane, and to this union, three children were born.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Susie Johnson, and Beatrice Green; eight brothers, Johnnie, David, Richard, Bobby, Harry, Willie, Malachi II, and James; nine aunts, Roseann Mack, Della Wallace, Ollie Crawford, Lillie Ross, Ella Mae Shepherd, Amy Parham, Lannie Abrams, Fannie Thomas, and Bertha Bull; three uncles, John Abrams, Nathan Abrams, and Jerry Abrams.

Surviving to cherish his loving memories are his devoted wife, Evangelist Betty Jean LeSane of the home; one daughter Shernette LeSane of Florence, SC; two sons, Allen (Stephanie) McDonald of Hartsville, SC, and Antwain (Renee) LeSane of Columbia, SC; ten grandchildren, Alexis McDonald, Antonia Baker, Jameson LeSane, Azariah LeSane, Antonette Baker, Joe George, Khadijah Jones, Antonetta Baker, Ti’arrianna Reed, and Aniya Coleman; five great-grandchildren, Brayden Bell, Ryleighn Gillespie, Starr Gillespie, ShaRiyah Jackson, and Shikeria George; special friends, Deacon Frank Hickman, and Elder Edwin Blue; and many loving nieces and nephews, other relatives, church family and friends who are too numerous to call by name are among those that are left to cherish his memories.
