Barbara Thomas, 69, died September 9,2019 at her home in Baton Rouge, La. Visitation will be held at St. Peter Baptist Church on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the church on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Van Smith Jr., pastor. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery. She leaves to carry on her legacy: five sons and their wives, Tyrus E. and Melissa Davis, Belton A. Davis, Judell E. and Rachel Davis, Terence L. and Tammy Davis, and Lyell R. and Trinell Davis; three daughters, Dionicia E., Balva A. and Lynetta G. Davis; special son, Christopher Elzy; ex-husband, Leon Thomas Jr.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lequisha and Leon Thomas Sr.; two brothers and their wives, Benjamin R. and Sandra Phillips and Leonard Sr. and Linda Phillips; two sisters, Nathaniel and husband Arthur Battiste Sr., and Iona Pinkney; two sisters-in-law, Dionicia Phillips and Dorothy Phillips; three brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law, James and Sandra Davis, Leroy and Dorothy Dunn, Roosevelt Sr. and Dianna Franklin, and Geraldine Hawkins; 20 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Helen "Sadie" Phillips; son, Leon Phillip Davis III; three brothers, Ellis Phillips Jr., Donald "Duck" Phillips Sr. and Winfield "pete pete" Phillips; five sisters, Oscar Mae Francis, Nora Mae Provo, Lelia Teaser, Geraldine Dukes and Essie B.
