Barbara, Majors, 74, departed May 3, 2018, at UT Southwestern Hospital, after a long illness.

Barbara Jean Hurst was born November 27, 1943, in Negreet, Louisiana. She was the third child of John and Jether M. Hurst. She confessed to Christ at an early age. She was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church.

Barbara graduated from Sabine High School in 1962. In 1962, she moved to Dallas where she married Henry Majors. She worked at Traveler's Insurance (Formerly Gulf Insurance) until her retirement after twenty-four years of service.

Barbar is Survived by two Daughters, Cynthia Slider, Dallas and Shana Dorsey, Atlanta, GA, and son, Darron Hurst of Dallas, TX and nine grandchildren, Ebone Morgan, Kristopher Morgan, Danny Slider, Chase Slider, Tyler Madkins, Darshunn Sims, Darrien Hurst, Darroneisha Hurst, Malaysia Williams. She is further survived by one brother, George Hurst, and five sisters, Lena Jones, Brenda Cannon of Dallas, TX, Ella Hurst, Ora (John) Holmes of Negreet, LA and Vida Seymour of Houston, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in Death by one brother, Robert Hurst.

Her Funeral Servies will be held, Saturday, May 5 at 2 PM at United Mortuary and Funeral Home.
