Anita J. Simmons, 70Muncie - Anita J. Simmons, 70, passed away on Saturday morning, December 10, 2016 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.She was born on June 27, 1946 in Muncie, the daughter of Harold M. Hall and Lottie M. (Lykins) Brandenburg and graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1964.Anita was a housewife and office receptionist for Dr. Mark Turner, D.D.S. and also worked as a tutor in the Muncie Elementary Schools for 10 years. She was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God and was an advocate for Delaware County Right to Life.Anita dearly loved her family and grandchildren and enjoyed cooking.Surviving are one son, Scott Ratliff of Muncie; one daughter, Kim Watson of Muncie; one daughter-in-law, Traci Ratliff of Palestine, TX; five grandchildren, Matthew, Mason, Deborah, Seth and Timmy; two great-granddaughters, Natallie and Laylah; and two brothers, Gary Hall of Muncie and David Hall of Ridgeville.She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jeff Ratliff in 2003; her step-father, Russell Brandenburg and her former husband, Jerry Simmons.Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel with Pastor Dan Vanderbilt officiating. Burial will follow in Tomlinson Cemetery.
