Angelo CiccimarraAngelo Ciccimarra, 61, passed away on May 1, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Angelo was born on July 26, 1955 in East Harlem, NYC. Upon starting grade school he and his family moved to Lodi, NJ, which he proudly called his hometown. He graduated from Pope Pius XII High School in Passaic in 1973, attended Felician College in Lodi and worked with his step-father at Washburn Wire Company in New York. Angelo careered in the computer field, and moved to Connecticut in 1988. He managed to combine his outgoing nature and computer savvy to be a help desk analyst working for Peoples United Bank and most recently for Yale New Haven Hospital.Angelo was a friend to everyone with his warm, generous and welcoming nature attracting people to him wherever he went. He loved his sports; Cowboys, Mets, Patriots and Red Sox. He knew the facts and figures about the teams he loved and enjoyed going to games with his circle of friends and family. Angelo was known for "bringing the fun" wherever he went. Angelo was preceded in death by his mother Katherine (Russo) Gavula, his step-father John Gavula, and by his father Anthony Ciccimarra. He is survived by his fiancé (and best friend), Sherril Abate, sister Rose Ciccimarra, and his brother John Gavula, Jr. He will be dearly missed by his oldest friend Patrick Quigley and his wife Cherie and two cherished God-daughters Jennifer and Fallon. He leaves his two honorary children, and their spouses; Jason and Paula Abate, Ryan Abate and Sarah Lawson, and his 7 grandchildren; Kayleigh, Mackenna, Madeline, Evan, Evyn, Sam, and Sydney and his new great-grandson Logan. Calling hours will be held at Santangelo Funeral home in Lodi on Friday May 5th from 5 to 8 pm. A mass will be held on Saturday, May 6th at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church in Garfield at 9:30 am. The burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery in South Hackensack. Memorial contributions in Angelo's name can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the .
