Allan Joseph Kairis RACINE — Allan Joseph Kairis, 72, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 13, 2015. Allan was born on December 8, 1942 to Joseph and Mary (nee: Yankech) Kairis in Racine. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Barbara Ann Johnson, on June 29, 1968 in South Milwaukee. Allan honorably served in the U.S. Coast Guard reserves and was active in the Racine Scout and Boys of ’76 Drum & Bugle Corps as a drum major and bugler. He worked for Modine Manufacturing and during his 38 year career he was promoted from draftsman to Drafting Supervisor. Allan was also an active member of the Racine Instinctive Bowmen. He enjoyed travelling out west, hiking, and camping with his family. Allan was always a lover of music and enjoyed attending concerts and musicals. As a big soccer fan, he closely followed World Cup and Olympic soccer matches. Allan was a gentle man who was always friendly and generous to those in need. Most important to Allan was family, and he treasured every minute he spent with his grandchildren. Allan will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Barbara Ann; children, Peter (Erica) Kairis and Kristen (Markus) Speer; grandchildren, Elena Kairis and Theo Speer; brothers, James (Sandra) Kairis and David (Roberta) Kairis; brother-in-law, Howard (Michal) Johnson; sister-in-law, Nancy Kairis; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Allan was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary; and his brothers, Donald and Raymond Kairis. Funeral services for Allan will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 6:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Home with Father William Dietzler officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 4:00 PM until the time of service at 6:00 PM. Private inurnment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials in honor of Allan may be directed to the Rawhide Boys Ranch, E7475 Rawhide Rd, New London, WI 54961; or the Salvation Army.
