Sabel, Alice M.Alice Mabel Sabel, 91, of Fond du Lac, passed away with her family at her side on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Manor Care, Fond du Lac. She was born on April 13, 1925 in St. Peter to Henry and Mary (Mand) Ditter. She was baptized, confirmed and attended St. Peter's Parochial school and Catholic Church in St. Peter.Alice was united in marriage to Ralph E. Sabel on October 2, 1946 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in St. Peter. They lived and farmed on the Sabel homestead for 43 years before moving to Fond du Lac, WI in 1983. They were blessed with three children, Carol, Jane and Gerald.She served as president of the Women's Altar Society at St Peter's church, and president of the Catholic Knight's Society, Branch 19. After moving to Fond du Lac, she worked as a Special Voting Deputy for 22 years. Alice enjoyed playing cards, baking, especially new recipes, and being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.Alice is survived by her loving children, Carol (Dan) Brenner of Mt. Calvary, Jane (Gene) Falkenstein of Hartford and Gerald "Rookie" Sabel of Fond Du Lac. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one brother, Ray (Ethel) Ditter; two sisters-in-law, Jane Ditter and Joan Ditter; brother-in-law, Ervin Sabel; along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; her parents, Henry and Mary (Mand) Ditter; parents-in-law, Joseph and Anna (Keifenheim) Sabel; brothers, William (Kathleen) Ditter, Lt. Harold Ditter, Clarence Ditter, and Alvin Ditter; sister, Stella (Clem) Birschbach; brothers and sisters-in-law, Anthony (Maude) Sabel, Greg (Marie) Sabel, Raymond (Viola) Sabel, Norman (Elizabeth) Sabel and Agnes Sabel. Visitation: The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Peter Catholic Church in the Village of St. Peter on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM. Service: At 11:00 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter Catholic Church.
