Alfred Alexander, 46, of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed on February 6th, 2023 at home surrounded by his family after a long battle with lung cancer. He was born in New Orleans, Louisana to Michael and Naedean Alexander on April 8th, 1971. He grew up in the 5th ward with his sister Michelle Alexander. He attended Booker T. Washington High School (class of 1989), where he was top of his class and played Varsity Football.
He attended Xavier University of Louisana, where he played football and joined the Beta Club. This where Alfred was able to discover his love for teaching and from that point he dedicated his life to being a role model for the younger generation. He was involved in the "Big Brother" program in the local community, where he met his wife Danielle. Danielle and Alfred shortly got married on August 16th, 1994.
He taught math and computer science at Booker T. Washington High School for 10 years. The students frequently voted him “teacher of the year.” He also was the Assist Coach for the Junior Varsity Basketball team for 3 years. He was a devoted father, protective big brother, playful uncle and loving grandfather who created a nickname for everyone. He leaves behind two daughters Daisha and Kasey Alexander He looked forward to visits from his grandkids and would take them on the best fishing trips. He had an amazing memory and told entertaining stories, sometimes with a hint of exaggeration. Even in his last few days, he told stories from throughout his life, and he had a dream where he was driving a stagecoach with 100 horses. He liked that dream.
He is survived by his loving wife, Danielle; children: Daisha, Kasey LA; grandchildren: Dilan, Leo and Grace; sister: Michelle; his Aunt Nicole "Nicky" as well as beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
