San Antonio, TX - 84 passed away peacefully on October 28, 2016 in San Antonio, Texas. Alejandro was born on May 19, 1932 in Mission, TX. He graduated from Mission High School. In 1954 he married the love of his life, Blanca Lilia Garcia Cantu and together they had six children, Armando, Yolanda, Maria Estela, Alejandro Jr., Albert, and Andres. Alejandro worked in Civil Service at Kelly AFB retiring in 1991 after thirty years of service. Alejandro also retired as a Chief Master Sergeant, E-9, from the Air Force Reserves in 1992 with thirty five years of service. Alejandro spent many years as a volunteer in the Catholic War Veterans receiving the prestigious Honor Legion of the Order of Saint Sebastian medal, the organizations highest award.Alejandro was preceded in death by his parents Tomas and Leonor Cantu, infant brother Armando, sister Alicia and brother Arnoldo.Alejandro is survived by his loving wife Blanca Lilia, son Armando Javier (Cheryl), daughter Yolanda (Daniel) Trevino, their children Daniel Alejandro, Dominic Matthew, David Joseph (Laura) their son David Alejandro, daughter Maria Estela (Dwight) Cantu-Green, their son Philip Michael, son Alejandro Jr. (Nancy) their two children Adam Zachary and Aaryn Nicole, son Albert, son Andres (Sharra) their son Aiden Cael.Alejandro is further survived by his brother Arturo (Angelica) Cantu, sister's Aurora Hill, Anita Moreno, Aminta (Alejandro) Martinez, brother Tomas (Alicia) Cantu Jr.. Alejandro is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.A celebration of life service will be held at Castle Ridge Mortuary, visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 with the Rosary to follow at 7:00 PM. Funeral will be the following day with mass at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at 9:30 AM and burial to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church or the San Antonio & South Texas Chapter MAC 37 Building 10223 McAllister Freeway, Suite 100 San Antonio, TX 78216.
