CHARLOTTE — Mrs. Adella Adcox Tart, 92, formerly of Laurinburg passed away on Oct. 22, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Oct. 26, 2013 at the North Laurinburg Baptist Church with burial following in Hillside Memorial Park. Pastor Ed Pilarczyk will officiate the services.

Adella was born on Nov. 22, 1920 in New York, daughter of the late George and Mamie Swartout. She was a charter member of the North Laurinburg Baptist Church for more than 50 years. Before her retirement, she worked with the Scotland County Department of Social Services, Toastmaster/Ingraham Manufacturing and Belk Department Stores. She loved animals, gardening, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her sons James R. Borton and David C. Adcox and her siblings Harold Swartout and Mildred Redman.

She is survived by her daughter Donna Harrell of Mint Hill, 12 grandchildren, and a host of great and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday at the North Laurinburg Baptist Church.

The family requests that memorials gifts be made in her memory to North Laurinburg Baptist Church, 517 Lee's Mill Road, Laurinburg, NC 28352.
