Chancie Lee Effinger was born September 3, 1932, 10 the late Arthur Effinger Sr. and Ida Mae Walker Effinger, in Birmingham, Alabama.

He was educated in the Birmingham City School System.

Chance always loved to so to church with his family and said he was ready to join the family church in October, 2013. He was bapfized November 30, 2014, and became the newest member of Parker Memori al Baptist Church.

Chancie was known best to those that loved him as "Spoon". He always said, "This Spooney". He got his name from always loving food. He grew up to be a great cook.

He was a loving, caring, and very kind hearted Brother, Uncle, and Friend. Evervone that knew him loved him. He passed away quietly in his sleep.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Effinger Sr. and Ida Mae Walker Effinger; two brothers, Arthur Effinger and Jerome Effinger.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his loving brother: Sammie Lee Effinger; devoted care giving sister: Cynthia Effinger Glenn; Dutiful Grandkids Samuel King , Mack Foreman , Kiera Dinatale ; Good friend to the end: James Snow; and the most special brother of all: Robert Glenn, Jr. ; A host of nieces, nephews, near and dear relatives, and special friends.
