A. Paul ShockleySnow Hill-A. Paul Shockley died peacefully on January 12, 2017 at the age of 105. He was blessed with many wonderful and healthy years of life.Paul is survived by his daughters, Linda Shockley of Snow Hill and Jean Lynch of Snow Hill; granddaughters, Shelley & Jenn Lynch of Felton, DE and Tracy Lynch of Salisbury; great granddaughters, Juliana Lynch and Aubree Moor; great grandson, Jace Lynch; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his wife, Esther Shockley; brothers, Homer Shockley, Bill Shockley and Arthur Shockley; and sister, Mildred Hearthway.Paul was born on December 27, 1911 on a farm near Snow Hill, MD to Aurelius and Sadie Shockley. He married Esther on December 27, 1945. They were residents of Snow Hill for many years. Paul was an avid farmer for many years as well as a school bus contractor, amongst other jobs.Paul was a strong, independent person who loved to drive his tractor and tend to his garden. He started to attend Mt. Olive Church in Snow Hill in 1919 and for various years he served on the Cemetery committee.A funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, January 17, 2017 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Church in Snow Hill, where family and friends may call from 12:00 to 1:00. A reception will follow at Snow Hill Volunteer Fire Department. Pastor Danny Jackson will officiate the ceremony, assisted by the Reverend Tom Northam. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Paul's life.In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Snow Hill Volunteer Fire Department/ EMS, P.O. Box 83, Snow Hill, MD 21863 and/or to Mt.
