Wilma A. Harry, 1935 - 2017Wilma Ann Harry, 81, passed away on February 26, 2017.  Wilma was born on April 30, 1935 to Hursel and Bernice (Benson) Williams. In 1955, she married the love of her life Charles Edward Harry IV. She was a lifelong member of Witherspoon Presbyterian Church. Wilma attended Crispus Attucks High School, Class of 1951. Wilma received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Indiana University, 1955 and 1959, respectively.She retired from the Indianapolis Public Schools in 1997. She served as a social worker, lead administrator for social work for the Indianapolis Public Schools and Director of the Even Start Program. She was honored as the National Association of Social Worker of the Year in 1997.Wilma was an active and contributing member of many organizations. She was a Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the NAACP. Additional organizations included, but not limited to: Crispus Attucks Alumni Association, Charter Member of the Neal-Marshall Alumni Club, The Drifters and The Thirteen Hearts.Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Harry IV. She is survived by her daughters Janet Harry, Jill (Earl) Rahman; grandson, Rasul Rahman; nieces and nephew, Felecia Williams, Kim (Curtis) Johnson, Hursel Alan (Ebony) Williams and host of family and friends.Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Crown Hill Funeral Home. On Friday, March 3, at Witherspoon Presbyterian Church, a viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
