Maki, William R. "Will"William Ray "Will" Maki, 19, died on Monday, January 30, 2017 at Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio. The visitation will be on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Marshfield. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Owen-Withee High School, where a visitation will be from 6:00 pm until service time. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. William was born on April 25, 1997 in San Angelo, Texas to Wade R. and Ann E. (Comstock) Maki. Will was a graduate of Owen-Withee High School where he was active in sports. As a three-sport athlete, he enjoyed football, basketball and track. He had been a part of the 2014 State Championship Division 7 Football Team. He not only enjoyed the competitiveness of sports but enjoyed the time to make new friends and just enjoy sports. He also was a coach and mentor to other athletes. At school, he had been an active member of band and choir and a member of the National Honor Society. Will was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had been a member of Boy Scout Troop #391 where he embodied the Scout Law, being trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. In addition to sports, he enjoyed music, video games and loved animals. He was a New England Patriots fan. He especially enjoyed visits and spending time with his older siblings, Jeffrey, Kristin and Sam. Friends and family will miss his trademark laugh and bright smile. Will is survived by his parents, Wade R. and Ann E. Maki and his siblings, Jeffrey D. Maki, Kristin A. Maki and Samuel A. Maki. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Carlton and Ann Comstock and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Chester H. and Mabel E. Maki. Will's fight against cancer included incredible support from his family, friends and followers which encompassed many communities near and far. The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude and thanks to all of the Will's Fight supporters; Will did not fight alone. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the "Will Power" fund to be used for legacy projects in Will's memory.
