Krajewski, William F.William F. Krajewski life-long resident of Rothschild WI and WWII Veteran died at home on Saturday, August 26, 2017, surrounded by his family.William, a/k/a Bill was born on December 16, 1919, to the late Richard and Clara Krajewski. After graduating from high school, at 17, he attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison. On October 7, 1939, Bill married Ruth Wallenius from Ironwood, MI. Ruth, the love of his life, proceeded him in death on June 15, 1987.Bill served his Country honorably enlisting in the United States Navy after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. He served as a gunner on the Destroyer Escort USS Wesson in the South Pacific.Bill worked in chemical research at the Rothschild Paper Mill for over 45 years. He was a life guard at the Rothschild Pavilion, where he met his wife Ruth. He also served as a volunteer on the Rothschild Fire Department and Rothschild Village Board for a number of years. In addition to helping his wife raise four children, Bill enjoyed the outdoors and water with family, camping, hiking, swimming, boating, sailing, and bird hunting. He also enjoyed ice skating, writing, storytelling, music and square dancing with his wife Ruth. Bill's priority was his family. He was a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. To his children he often seemed bigger than life because of his endless energy and unconditional love. His generosity, kindness and love of laughter will always be remembered by those he touched.Bill is survived by his children and extended family, Dianne (Terry) of Madison, WI, Richard (Sue) of Louden, TN, Nicholas (Denise) of Chippewa Falls, WI and Tom DeLisle of Mosinee, WI. Besides his parents, wife Ruth, and sister Julianne, Bill was preceeded in death by his son, William Craig, daughter-in-law Diana, son-in-law Terry, and great grandchildren Eva, Mickel and Jonah.Bill has 9 grandchildren: Michelle (DeLisle) Lindner, Alisa DeLisle, Jill, Scott and Steven Krajewski, Kellie (Krajewski) Carlson, Carey Krajewski and Dane and Ty Krajewski.Bill has 11 great grandchildren: Nicholas and Delaney Lindner, Emma and Kyan Krajewski, Taner and Ryan Carlson, Gracyn and Weston Krajewski, Olivia and Davis Krajewski and Carter Nicholas Krajewski.A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 22 at Brainard Funeral Home and Cremation Center - Everest Chapel, 5712 Memorial Court Weston, WI. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of service at the Funeral Home. Military Honors will follow the service, performed by American Legion Montgomery Plant Dudley Post 10 at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Kronenwetter. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to local Military Veterans Organizations.Dad was grateful for life. He was a man of faith and looked forward to his reunion with our mother. Dad's wish was to live and die in his own home. He had a wonderful quality of life until the end because of those special individuals who joined our family in caring for him. Our family will be forever grateful to those who provided skilled, faithful and tender care to Dad at home during good times and when his health declined. They are, his niece Renee', and the staff and management of TLC who provided many years of care and who this past year were joined by the staff of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
