William E. Madison, Sr.Nov. 28, 1942 - Dec. 14, 2016WALKERTON - William “Bill” E. Madison, Sr. 74, of Walkerton, IN passed away at 12:03 a.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at home. He was born on November 28, 1942 in South Bend, IN to the late Ruben and Maxine (Ferris) Madison. On October 20, 1962 in Sturgis, SD, he married the former Rita (Kienitz) Madison who preceded him in death on September 10, 2016. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Lorraine Wolfe. Bill is survived by his children, William (Kelly) Madison Jr. of Goshen, IN, Sandra (Greg) Saenz of Tippecanoe, IN, Pam (Bill) Rogers of Niles, MI and Patti (Jeff) Chestnut of Goshen, IN; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter and a host of nieces and nephews. Bill was a lifelong area resident. He retired after serving his country honorably in the United States Air Force Reserves He worked as an electrician for the South Bend Parks Department, purchasing agent for Scanlon Electric in South Bend and at Nello Corporation in Bremen. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 19, 2016 at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date at a National Cemetery in South Dakota.
