William Daniel Powers Jr., age 73, passed away peacefully at this home on July 18, 2016 with his devoted wife, Barbara, at his side. Bill and his wife, Barbara Ann (Fallon) Powers, were happily married for 48 years. Together they raised their family in Plymouth, MA before retiring to Fort Mill, SC.Bill was the loving and proud Dad of Sharon Powers of Norwood, MA, Cheryl Weston and her husband Craig of Carver, MA, Stephen Powers and his wife Stacey of Charlotte, NC and Rachel Hunsucker and her husband Phil of Fort Mill, SC. Bill was the cherished Papa of Heather, Taylor, Caitlyn, Alyssa, Max, Luke and Aubrey. His grandchildren will forever treasure the memories they created together.Bill was the son of the late William and Mary Powers of Venice, FL. He was the brother of Ellen Powers of Fort Mill, SC and Robert Powers of Venice, FL.Bill was born on March 1, 1943 in Medford, MA. He graduated from Medford High School, Class of 1960. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Management from UMASS Lowell. Bill proudly served as a Sergeant in the Army National Guard of Massachusetts. He spent his work career as an Industrial Engineer.Bill enjoyed cheering on all Boston sports teams, especially his beloved Celtics. He had a passion for great music, capturing photographs of vibrant foliage, beautiful sunsets and especially candid pictures of his grandchildren. Most importantly, Bill was a family man who is loved and will be dearly missed by his wife, children and grandchildren.A memorial service to celebrate Bill's life will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at the Palmetto Funeral Home Chapel, 2049 Carolina Place Drive, Fort Mill, SC 29708 followed by a memorial service on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Carver, MA 02330.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Regency Hospice, 420 S.
