Papendieck, William C. "Bill"William C. "Bill" Papendieck age 90, of Sheboygan, passed away at home on January 14, 2017 with his family at his side after a long struggle with COPD. Bill was born on May 19, 1926 to the late Andrew and Helen Papendieck in Sheboygan. He attended Central High and graduated in 1944. He enlisted into the
US Navy in June of 1944 and served aboard the Destroyer USS McDermut in the South Pacific for 2 years. After his service, Bill attended the UW-Extension for 1 year on the GI bill. He worked for Plastics Engineering Co. for 37 years in various positions, enjoying his work as a lab technician the most. On June 30th, 1951, Bill married Patricia Godfrey at St. Dominic Catholic Church. The couple celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary along with Bill's 90th birthday last summer. Bill was a man of the outdoors, he enjoyed fishing on Lake Michigan and lakes up north with his family and friends. He was a dedicated deer hunter, he spent many happy hours at the cabin he built in Lily, WI in 1978. The cabin is still enjoyed by his family today. He was an avid gardener, providing food for his family. In his retirement years, he became a woodworker making bookcases and many birdhouses for his children. Bill was proud to be able to attend the Old Glory Honor Flight to Washington, DC for
WWII vets on April 11th, 2013. Bill was a loving, loyal husband to his wife Patty and a good provider for his children, carrying us through the years with his wisdom and support. Everyone knew and appreciated his subtle sense of humor. He was a longtime member of St. Dominic Catholic Church serving as an usher for many years. Bill is survived by his wife of 65 years, Patricia; children, Steven (Mary) of Salem, OR, Andrew (Heather) of Eugene, OR, Robert (Cindy) of Lily, WI, Jane (David) Birkett of Dubuque, IA, Lisa (Tom) Gutoski of Sheboygan, Mary Claire of Plymouth, John W. (Susan) of McFarland, WI, Julie Anne Ziegelbauer of Sheboygan, Marc (Sandy) of Edgerton, WI and Amy Jo of Sheboygan; 32 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Mona Zientek; brother, Carl W. Papendieck; brother-in-law, Bert (Marge) Dreps and many nieces, nephews and friends.He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Lois Dreps and Diane Gahagan, one grandchild, one great-grandchild, a niece and two nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 21st, 2017, at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 2136 N. 21st St., Sheboygan. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass with Rev. Philip Reifenberg officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at
