Wendy A. LavantureJuly 16, 1970 - Dec. 11, 2016GRANGER - Wendy A. Lavanture, 46, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 11, 2016. Wendy was born on July 16, 1970 in Rantoul, Illinois to Margaret Anne (Marks-Rozow) Lavanture and the late Richard J. Marks. Wendy resided in Granger through her childhood and early adulthood with her parents Margaret and Robert Lavanture. She graduated from Marian High School and enjoyed performing on the Pom-Pom Squad. Wendy won many awards while active in the 4-H in both Western and English Equestrian competitions. She continued her education at the Art Institute of Chicago and received her degree in Fine Arts from Indiana University. Wendy originally joined the family business Vytec, located in Granger, Indiana in 1982. She continued as Vice President of Marketing when she moved to Naples, Florida in 2000. She enjoyed travel, boating and painted portraits in oil and mixed media. Wendy will be remembered for her love of animals and all the people she met. Wendy leaves behind her parents, Robert and Margaret Anne Lavanture, sisters Julie Moore and Laura Steinway, aunts and uncles Elizabeth O'Brien, Jennifer (David) Alger, Richard (Marla) Lavanture, Nick (Chris) Rozow, Ted Greenawalt, cousins Aaron Alger, Jonathon Alger, Micah Alger, Donna Bennett, Michelle Rohyans, Richard Lavanture, Alex Lavanture and Douglas Lavanture. A Prayer Service will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, December 17, 2016 in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue. Family and friends may gather from 1-3pm in the funeral home. In keeping with Wendy's wishes, cremation will follow. A Celebration of Life will occur in late January. Memorial contributions may be made in Wendy's name to American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (aspca.org) or National Alliance on Mental Illness ([email protected]).
